The hills around Campalfi are called the Montagnola and are covered with the Mediterranean mix of chestnut trees, holm oaks, deciduous oaks and pines. There is a fine network of walking tracks here in this essentially wild place which provides habitat for a great many species of plants, birds, fish, insects, reptiles and mammals.
